Protein Shakes!!!

Part of a shift in my regular diet includes an increase in protein, and a significant decrease in carbohydrates.  In a day and age where breakfast is the meal most commonly skipped, but where it is still one of the most important meals of the day, this has been my solution, and one that I look forward to every morning!


1 serving chocolate soy protein powder

1 – 2 cups chocolate soy milk (depends on the consistency you like)

1 banana

1/2 cup all natural, sugar-free peanut butter (I use fresh ground)

3 T honey (I use local)

1 cup of ice

Toss all the ingredients into your blender and blend until the desired consistency is achieved and all of the powder is mixed in.  I’m not a huge fan of bananas, but there is something about the peanut butter, chocolate, and banana combination that is just DELICIOUS!  This is an awesome smoothie that is filling and tricks your mind and body into thinking it’s getting dessert for breakfast. Plus, it’s high in protein, relatively low in sugar, low in carbs, and filling.
